Vacancies
The term "Vacancies" is used for jobs, which are not filled at the time and are advertising for applicants. See also Jobs (applicant management) and Jobs (employee management)
Assign vacancies and display in employee files
In employee management you can assign vacancies to employees. The assignment can be made:
- Directly in the employee file (in the "manager" section) using the "assign" link
- In the employee directory using the multiple action "Assign new manager"
With both options you can assign both managers and vacancies (unfilled jobs).
Background: After a manger leaves, his or her (previous) subordinate employees will now have the vacant job as "manager" in their employee files. After the manager position is filled by a successor, the successor will automatically be assigned to the employee. No later assignment of the successor is needed. This is precisely the same means for advertising a management position and assigning it to the employees ahead of time. After the job is filled, this person will automatically be entered in the employee file as the assigned manager.
Importing vacant jobs
You can import both vacancies for employees and vacant jobs as manager jobs for employees.
Important note: Importing unfilled and filled jobs uses the same import (if available in the source system).
In order to import vacant jobs use the relevant Import template. You can also import vacant jobs simply without entering the employee key (Variable [Person.Key] for vacant jobs, Variable [Stelle.VorgesetzterStelleSchluessel] for vacant jobs). Therefore it is recommended that both these and any other unneeded columns starting with [Person.XXX] be deleted from the import template (for vacant employee jobs).
Upon import vacancies are automatically generated, which appear as open jobs in the solution.
Vacancies cannot be imported via the SAP interface at this time.
